Understandably there have been an increasing number of requests for more on-street Electric Vehicle (EV) charging across the City as more residents are wanting to switch to EV.

At the last Full Council the Lib Dem group secured support across the Chamber for a facility that would allow residents and businesses to suggest new sites for public EV charging points, with suggestions received forming part of the information used to determine the future location of such devices.

This is now being considered by officers and will be reported back to the Transport and Environment Committee by the end of the year.

Hal Osler said, “Edinburgh is woefully behind in the provision of public EV charging and I am hopeful of more focus and attention being paid to this now, so that more residents can make the switch to electric vehicles which will benefit us all.”
