Local Lib Dem councillor Hal Osler said, "I am delighted to say that after the Lib Dem budget was passed by the Council, leading to an extra £2m being allocated for flood prevention, the report indicating how these monies are to be allocated came to the Transport and Environment Committee this month.

"There are five different streams of work ranging from coastal improvements to surface water enhancements. I am particularly pleased that funds are being allocated for works in Easter Drylaw Drive and the Craigleith Catchment.

"This has been a long time coming and more is needed but at least there is a focus now on flooding and the issues it causes."
