Alex Demands Action from First Minister on Car Racing
I hosted a public meeting regarding antisocial car racing in South Queensferry after repeated and ongoing representations from local residents concerning the matter.
The meeting was productive and we have left with many action points to tackle this ongoing issue.
Below is the clip from First Minister Questions, where I raised the issue in Parliament and demand action from the First Minister on antisocial car racing. I have requested a meeting discuss a resolution for the local residents of South Queensferry which I am determined to achieve.
Alongside other elected representatives in the council and Police Scotland, we will explore more legislative avenues around speed cameras, physical modifications including but not limited to roads like Newhalls Road and the car park. As well as examine what other local authorities do to combat antisocial car racing in those areas.
We will meet again before Christmas with other representatives and Police Scotland to follow up on our progress and we will keep you updated along the way.
Thank you to those who came along and made their voices and concerns heard.
