Better cycling infrastructure needed along McDonald Road

As the markings have been mostly worn away and the cycle lane itself is painted over a number of potholes and bumps, Councillor Caldwell has called for action.

In June, he submitted a project proposal to the new ‘Local Traffic Improvement’ programme, but unfortunately it did not make the final list of project applications this year.

Councillor Caldwell said “It's very disappointing that the modest cycling infrastrucutre is so worn down along McDonald Road”.

“After securing recent wins including the contraflow cycle lane on Brunswick Road, and future wins such as the Broughton Road / McDonald Road junction project, the Council can massively improve active travel for residents along the entirety of McDonald Road by refreshing the markings and resurfacing potholes underneath the lane”.
