Bin Hubs

24 Dec 2024

Many residents have found the rollout of new communal bin hubs difficult. During a recent meeting of the Transport and Environment Committee, Liberal Democrat councillors finally reached an agreement that the impact of these bin hubs on residential amenities must be considered.

This will mean that the team responsible for sitting the bins will have to take into account issues like noise for the first time, which is particularly important when considering glass recycling.

Cllr Euan Davidson said: "I am relieved that other groups on the council have finally seen sense and taken these important issues into account when sitting bin hubs. The impact on residents across our area, particularly in Coltbridge and Roseburn, has been severe. We now need to see this decision brought into reality quickly so that residents are spared further noise impacts."
