Bin Hubs: Will the Council listen to Southside / Newington residents?

The overly strict criteria used in the Council’s policy to determine the location of hubs seem to defy common sense. In response, Lib Dem Councillors proposed changes to the policy to take account of resident amenity in locations where the negative impacts are highest, and in cul-de-sacs, where there is no through traffic.

Unfortunately, the proposal was not supported by other parties. There is a Council workshop on bin hubs in the Autumn, but it must not continue to ignore residents’ concerns.
