Cameron Toll Railway Bridge Repairs
Network Rail confirm that the road beneath the railway at Old Dalkeith Road, including the footpath, is now closed until March 14. This is so that engineers and contractors can carry out removal and replacement of part of the timber bridge deck and supporting steelwork as part of a £1.25m investment in improving Scotland's Railway. Following the full road closure, there will be further single lane closures at night (2200-0600) from Saturday 15 March until Friday 28 March. This can be difficult for those living and working nearby, but this is the safest way to deliver the complex engineering work and to refurbish the bridge. The engineers are working hard to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and keep disruption to the local road network to a minimum. Members of the public with questions about this work can contact Network Rail’s 24-hour national helpline on 03457 11 41 41.
