Revised Option 3 map showing a two directional bike lane up Braid Avenue

The Council decided last week to make changes to the Greenbank/Meadows cycle route to remove three modal filters from the Braid Estate and introduce segregated cycle lanes on Braid Avenue and Hermitage Drive plus a new modal filter on Clinton Road.

The survey of residents showed majority support for Option 3 for the Braid Estate but no clear preference on the options for Clinton Road/Whitehouse Loan.

A further six-month consultation will follow to gather the views of residents on the changes.

Graphics of the changes taken from the Council report can be viewed below.

The exact location of the modal filter on Clinton Road is still to be determined.

Councillor Neil Ross said, “Lib Dem councillors supported a safe, segregated cycle route through Morningside, as this was the clearly expressed view in the survey. We want the Council to work with residents to find local traffic solutions.”
