Cost of Living Crisis means more needed to help those struggling
Local Lib Dem MP Christine Jardine has called on both the UK and Scottish Governments to do more for families hit hard by the cost of living crisis.
She recently visited Edinburgh-based homeless charity Fresh Start, who help resettle homeless people and support them with supplies to get through the current crisis.
She said: “We all need the Government to do more than just keep restating that they want to bring down inflation. I am fed up telling the Government how serious the situation is and how many families are struggling, only for it to fall on deaf ears.
“Too often it feels as if they are just out of touch with the reality of the problems that people are facing with soaring food prices, huge energy bills, and sky-high inflation.
“Assurances are one thing, but we need intervention from the Government to help families who are in real trouble.”
