Decision time on Kirkliston High School
A key decision on where to locate a new Kirkliston high school is due to be taken in September.
Edinburgh Council officers recently consulted on one option to build a 600-pupil school on the current leisure centre site. Sports and leisure facilities would still be available to the public.
A report on the consultation results and next steps is due to be presented so the Council education committee can make a decision in September.
Cllr Louise Young said, “The local Lib Dem team have fought for over 5 years to get a new high school in Kirkliston. This has consistently been the overwhelming preference of parents and pupils in the village.
"With Queensferry High School to hit full capacity in the coming years, we really need a clear decision to be taken this autumn so a new school in the village can be delivered in time.”
