Funding agreed to tackle Craigleith Flooding
Within the Lib Dem budget that was passed in February this year a £2m provision was made for flood relief, unfortunately this is something that impacts a growing number of communities across the City.
In May a report was presented to the Transport and Environment Committee outlining how this funding was to be allocated.
Local Lib Dem councillor Hal Osler said, “I am delighted to say that £400,000 of the allocated funds has been earmarked for flood mitigation measures in the Craigleith/Orchard area.
“Amongst other things, flood relief plans are being made for Orchard Park and Craigleith Retail Park. I know how much of a worry flooding is for many in the community and I will continue to push for sustainable solutions, as residents should not have to fear the sound of rain.”
