Lib Dem councillors on the Cammo greenbelt land

A planning application to build another 500 houses on greenbelt land at Cammo (between Craigs Road and Meadowsweet Drive) has been refused by the Council's planning committee.

As local councillors, we were opposed to this application which had already been rejected by the Council once, and an appeal dismissed by the Scottish Government.

Local Lib Dem coucillor Robert Aldridge said, "The area is still adjusting to the new houses at both Cammo and West Craigs, with important infrastructure projects still not in place. It would have been wholly wrong to approve even more new housing on the remaining greenbelt land.

"We want to thank all those residents who signed our petition and who lodged objections of their own. This is a big victory for the community."
