Greenbank/Meadows Quiet Route Update

26 Mar 2025
The latest Greenbank Quiet Route plans showing Hermitage Drive

The Council has been listening to feedback, following the Road Safety Audit, and has revised its proposals for the Braid Estate part of the scheme. Parking bays will be added on a staggered basis on Hermitage Drive, to encourage speed reduction, and there will be extra bays for Braid Avenue, opposite the junction with Corrennie Drive. Adjustments have been made to the layout of the cycle protection build outs at the junction of Cluny Drive and Braid Avenue to aid pedestrians crossing the road at this location.

I understand that work will now proceed with preparations for the ETRO, alongside initial procurement processes. The alterations to the designs will also require a further Road Safety Audit and the expected start of implementation is now summer 2025. Detailed monitoring of road user volumes and behaviours will be conducted in advance of the changes being implemented, and thereafter, to inform any decisions on the ETRO.
