Leith Walk ward Cllr Jack Caldwell has been getting fixes across the community.

Throughout the year, Cllr Caldwell walks regular "ward patrols" and use the Council's own online reporting mechanisms, outwith any larger issues or infrastructure upgrade requests constituents report.

Cllr Caldwell said “I'm incredibly grateful to the Council officers who actually do the work. Lighting issues certainly aren't the most common issue spotted, but we got some key safety fixes across this year. Please do report any concerns to edinburgh.gov.uk/report”.

Lighting and safety fixes throughout 2024
  • 7 Unlit road-signs
  • 3 Street lights out
  • 2 Broken / unlit traffic signals
  • 1 Lamp-post upgraded to an LED
Surface fixes throughout 2024
  • 45 Loose or cracked paving stones - some still awaiting repairs (21 on Leith Walk itself)
  • 12 Drains unblocked
  • 5 Road surfaces with potholes filled
Waste and Cleansing fixes throughout 2024
  • 86 Overflowing communal waste and recycling bins (44 pairs of large bins)
  • 34 Flytipped items and piles of litter
  • 34 Instances of graffiti on Council property
  • 16 Overflowing litterbins
  • 5 Community litterpicks attended
