Pilrig Park

  • 🌳 The clearance of the shrubbery below the woodland (while preserving the woodland) started this week. This will be ongoing for another 6-9 weeks and to help aid against serious crime and antisocial behaviour.
  • πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ The path between Stead's Place and Pilrig Park is closed by the developers, and the opening date has just been pushed back slightly. It's now due to reopen on Wednesday 2nd October (originally going to be 30th September).
  • πŸ’‘ Lighting designs are in a second draft after a feedback meeting last week.

St Mark's Park

  • πŸ’‘ New lighting plan has been approved including lighting for the wee playpark. Work will hopefully start in the next few months.

Keddie Gardens

  • 🚸 After hearing Bonnington residents' frustration with the state of the play equipment, Cllr Caldwell has requested a meeting with Parks Officers to see how we can streamline the consultation process and just get equipment in there. He can then can hopefully also get an update out about the greenspace nature network under development across Leith as well as the Scottish Water works starting there soon.

Cllr Jack Caldwell said β€œAs always, I'm extremely grateful to volunteers across our community for leading on a number of matters both formally and informally. Hopetoun Crescent Gardens, Montgomery Street Park and Pilrig Park all have very active Friends groups that I'd highly recommend getting involved in!”
