Lib Dem Budget Changes Protect Roads and Schools
During the council's recent budget negotiations the Lib Dem group managed to secure an extra £12 million for road and pavement repairs. The amendment also meant that an extra £2 million was invested in school budgets rejecting suggested cuts and investing in our children. Other highlights included extra money for tree planting, protection of leisure centres and more money to tackle child poverty.
Cllr Euan Davidson said "The issue that is most often raised with us is the lack of investment in road repairs in the city. We know that this extra money won't solve the cities pothole crisis but it is a start in the face of brutal SNP cuts to council budgets. I'm also delighted that we rejected proposals to cut school funding and instead chose to prioritise spending on front line education services"
