Lib Dems oppose plans for massive Council Tax hike

Many residents have contacted the team, concerned by the new proposals published by the SNP Scottish Government which would massively increase council tax bills for homes across Corstorphine and Murrayfield .
SNP Ministers have said they are looking to increase rates for band E-H properties by as much as 22%. This is despite the SNP being first elected on a promise of scrapping the council tax.
Worse still, the continued cuts to the central grant given to Edinburgh Council (this makes up most of the council's funding, not council tax), mean people would literally end up paying more for less.
The Liberal Democrats are opposed to the massive increase in council tax, especially during this cost of living crisis and will vote against it.
