Local Bus Services Update - March '24
After listening to residents about the need for the proposed Cramond/Gyle Centre bus link to come up Maybury Drive and serve East Craigs fully, local Lib Dem councillors Robert and Ed have been in touch with the Council to ask if this route change could be made.
In addition, Lothian Buses have announced a new, limited stop, service running from Cammo, along Queensferry Road and into town, ending at Frederick Street. It will be called the X47, and will run at peak times only from the end of March. You can see the timetable here.
Ed Thornley said, "Of course we welcome any new bus services along Queensferry Road into town, but the only reason this service is necessary is because of the withdrawal of the 41. A withdrawal which has left residents in Parkgrove, Clermiston and Barntongate incredibly badly served.
"It's good to have more services running this way, but with limited stops and only at peak times, this new X47 will not fix the problem. It does feel like these communities are only getting the crumbs from the table.
"A proper replacement for the 41 is needed, providing a full service along Queensferry Road, so that residents in Barntongate, Clermiston and Parkgrove can actually get where they need to go, be it Davidson's Mains, Blackhall, or all the way into town"
