Maybury/Craigs Road Junction Update Nov '24

9 Nov 2024

The Lib Dem team are continuing to push for the works to begin as soon as possible.

Many residents of both East and West Craigs are increasingly concerned that they are being left in the dark around the works due to upgrade the junction of Maybury Road and Craigs Road.

Originally planned for late Spring last year, the works form part of a package of infrastructure contributions from the developers at West Craigs.

Local Lib Dem councillors Robert Aldridge and Ed Thornley have been working to try and get clarity around when the works will finally start.

Ed said, "This work has been delayed far too long, and the delays have left residents in the dark about whats happening and when. The Council professes to take an infrastructure first approach, but some residents of West Craigs have now been living there nearly two years.

“I asked the new Transport Convener about this when he's now expecting this to be delivered - and we have still not been given a clear timeline. The Convener told us it would be ”as soon as possible".

“These delays are simply not good enough, and we will keep pushing to get much-needed clarity for residents.”
