Preston Street Primary School requests
It was with great pleasure that I received letters from P5s now P6s, who as part of their programme learning about democracy and local government, wrote to me recently. Their requests were unanimous: a climbing wall on the Meadows and permanent toilets.
I am happy to report that the Council has announced plans for improvements to the City's parks and greenspaces by an extra £3m. The plans include new public toilets for the Meadows, Inverleith Park and Leith Links. The Climbing Wall, as the pupils tell me, would provide good exercise and a healthy outdoor activity, and while this might take a little longer to implement, is a great idea.
Special thanks to the staff for running such an innovative programme, and especially to the new P6s who took the trouble to write, to draw their ideas, and send them in.
