Putting residents priorities first
It has been a busy period at the council with the annual budget setting process. This has been a challenging process for many years due to the Scottish Government squeeze on local government funding and has been made worse by Labour's hike in National Insurance.
We have been focused again on pushing for the priorities that residents have told us that matter to them, improving the council's basic services and protecing our schools from cuts.
Local Lib Dem Councillor Euan Davidson said:
"I am delighted that we have again secured a record £12.5 million for road repairs to tackle the issue that residents raise with us the most.
We have also secured record funding for school repairs to make sure our facilities are the best we can for our young people, a new campus for Fox Covert School and again rejected cuts to teachers and pupil support assistants."
