Road and Pavement Repairs - Drum Brae/Gyle
After the Lib Dem Budget was passed by councillors in February, the Transport and Environment Committee has now agreed which roads and pavements will be upgraded over the next financial year.
The extra £11m that came from the Lib Dem budget has meant that twice as many roads and pavements will be attended to than was originally planned.
In Drum Brae/Gyle ward, that includes;
Carriageway Strengthening on Clermiston Drive.
Carriageway Surface Treatments on; Drum Brae Drive, Clermiston Crescent, Dochart Drive and Parkgrove Road.
Footway Surface Treatments on; Parkgrove Crescent, Drive, Road, Terrace and View, and Clermiston Green.
Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, "While it is disappointing not to see some roads that desperately need proper long-term repairs on this list, it is very welcome that we are seeing this kind of investment in areas of the community which have not had it for many years.
"We're under no illusions - this extra money won't fix everything. Just look at the places that aren't getting repairs that need them; Parkgrove Drive, Craigmount Grove North and pavements in North Gyle. We'll keep pushing to get those that have been missed off this list fixed.
"There's a long way to go...but this is a start."
