Road Repair Update
During the recent budget process we worked with other Lib Dem Councillors to try and ensure as much money as possible was allocated towards the roads budget since this is the issue that people raise with us most regularly.
We were successful in ensuring that an additional £12.5 million was put into the budget for repairs to roads, pavements and paths.
Cllr Euan Davidson said, "After years of SNP neglect, we are doing everything we can to try and tackle the mammoth backlog in road repairs. This significant budget increase will result in the most repairs being done for years. Of course, this isn't enough to tackle the problem completely, which is why we have written to the Scottish Government asking for money for road improvements and will resist SNP and Green councillors when they try to cut this budget even further".
At the recent transport and environment committee, it was confirmed that the following roads in our area will benefit from this funding:
- Roseburn Street
- Ellersly Road
- Belmont Gardens
- Broomfield Crescent
- Wester Broom Terrace
- Corstorphine Bank Avenue
- Craigleith Avenue South
- Broomhall Road
- Caroline Terrace
- Barony Terrace
- Forrester Road
- Corstorphine Bank Terrace
- Roull Grove
- St John's Avenue
- Saughtonhall Crescent
