Safe Slow Stockbridge

1 May 2023

On 28th April Stockbridge Primary School launched its new road safety campaign called Safe Slow Stockbridge, encouraging drivers to stick to the 20 mph and take extra care when driving around the community.

Many businesses and institutions in the nearby vicinity have got involved by putting up posters and flyers to support the initiative.

Local Lib Dem councillor Hal Osler said “I am so pleased to support this very important campaign. Stockbridge Primary School is situated in a very busy area and that is a cause for concern for parents who walk and cycle their children to and from school.

"There are plans to put in a new pedestrian crossing and improve the junction with Saxe Coburg and Clarence St but they are still a way off sadly.

"In the meantime, I'm delighted to be assisting the school and more importantly, the pupils themselves, to try and proactively make a difference and make the area safer for all to move around in.”
