Solutions Sought on Parkgrove Drive
We know it has been a real source of frustration and concern that there has been no action to improve the situation on Parkgrove Drive for so long.
So, at the Council's Transport Committee in April, local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley proposed a motion calling for council officers to go away and come back with options to; improve the road surface, reduce rat-running, protect the 68 bus route and make the Drive safer for all users - especially young people heading to school at Clermiston.
Ed said, "I was really glad that this passed committee with no opposition - hopefully it will lead to some real progress this time. It was also really good to work across political party on this, and all three local councillors supported this move.
"It was good to see that the pavements on Parkgrove Drive are on the programme to be improved this year, but it will take more than that to fix the myriad issues here.
"We'll continue to let residents know as this develops."
