Torwood Path Update - Feb '25

The long-awaited upgrade to the path running behind Torwood Crescent has faced further delays. 

In response to a motion brought to the Council by Cllr Ed Thornley, it was confirmed that, subject to external funding, work is due to begin on the wider West Edinburgh Link project in Spring this year. 

This bid, to Transport Scotland’s Active Travel Investment Fund, will need to be successful for the programme to begin. 

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, “The delays on this project have been galling, and have all the while left a dangerous, damaged and unlit path without any repair work. 

"This path needs to be lit and repaired as soon as possible, and a timetable given so that residents can be reassured that this work is still going ahead.”
