Councillor for Almond, Lib Dem Group Leader
ViewAt the 2022 Council Elections, the Liberal Democrat group in Edinburgh doubled in number to 12 councillors.
Following the elections, we took up leadership positions on three non-political committees and begun to make important strides in the Council for residents.
So far we have achieved big wins on pavement parking, tourist tax, EV charging, trees management, playground maintenance, school air quality and speeding enforcement.
In March 2023, we won the Corstorphine/Murrayfield by-election, with Fiona Bennett becoming our 13th councillor.

Residents have been in touch asking about the path running between Torwood Crescent and Meadow Place Road. The surface is very damaged and there is also exposed wiring.
A new roadway design has now been implemented at the crossing point from Inverleith Park to the Botanic Gardens.
Understandably there have been an increasing number of requests for more on-street Electric Vehicle (EV) charging across the City as more residents are wanting to switch to EV.
