ViewAt the 2022 Council Elections, the Liberal Democrat group in Edinburgh doubled in number to 12 councillors.
Following the elections, we took up leadership positions on three non-political committees and begun to make important strides in the Council for residents.
So far we have achieved big wins on pavement parking, tourist tax, EV charging, trees management, playground maintenance, school air quality and speeding enforcement.
In March 2023, we won the Corstorphine/Murrayfield by-election, with Fiona Bennett becoming our 13th councillor.

ViewNext year, the Council are hoping to install EV chargers on the east side of St Clair Road, just off Easter Road (with double yellows on nearby corners).
There have been a number of requests over the years to improve the steps at Maidencraigs. They provide a vital active travel link for residents to access Craigleith Retail Park, amongst other places.
Flooding continues to be an issue across the Ward and the wider city, with more areas experiencing problems.
Many residents have asked for improvements to the well-used but somewhat dated play equipment in Ravelston Park.
Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre was very close to having to close its doors due to a lack of funding.
Alan and Euan brought a motion recently for the Council to explore support for Roseburn's businesses to support with the drop in business that they have seen during the CCWEL Roadworks.
