Kevin Lang
Councillor for Almond, Lib Dem Group Leader
ViewAt the 2022 Council Elections, the Liberal Democrat group in Edinburgh doubled in number to 12 councillors.
Following the elections, we took up leadership positions on three non-political committees and begun to make important strides in the Council for residents.
So far we have achieved big wins on pavement parking, tourist tax, EV charging, trees management, playground maintenance, school air quality and speeding enforcement.
In March 2023, we won the Corstorphine/Murrayfield by-election, with Fiona Bennett becoming our 13th councillor.

ViewEdinburgh Lib Dem councillors have pushed to block the cuts to local primary school funding made by the SNP/Labour administration.
The Council is proposing these areas become part of a ‘Priority Parking Area’ or PPA. This means that at certain times of the day, much of the on-street parking would be for residents only
Cllr Kevin Lang, Christine Jardine MP, Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP and Cllr Louise Young want to stop the loss of even more greenbelt at Cammo.
This is my first blog-newsletter, and one month in, has seen plenty of activity: Social Survey Distribution, Party Conference, Zoom-to-Zooms and a round of photographs!
