CCWEL Extended Again
The ongoing saga that is CCWEL is not over yet – the end of the works has been put off once again, this time to the end of April.
Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward covers Balgreen, Broomhall, Carrick Knowe, Corstorphine, Murrayfield, Ravelston, Roseburn, Saughtonhall and Wester Broom.
Working as a team with Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP and Christine Jardine MP, local councillors Alan Beal, Fiona Bennett and Euan Davidson are strong voices for the area and work hard to get things done locally.
Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward
Alan represents the Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward, covering Balgreen, Broomhall, Carrick Knowe, Corstorphine, Murrayfield, Ravelston, Roseburn, Saughtonhall and Wester Broom.
He sits on the Policy and Sustainability Committee and Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board (EIJB). The latter oversees health and social care for Edinburgh. He is also the Vice-Convener of the Lothian Valuation Joint Board and sits on the Transport for Edinburgh Board.
Alan Beal has lived with his family in Corstorphine for 10 years. He works as an Energy/Housing Consultant and qualified in Environmental Management over 25 years ago.
He is an Edinburgh Street Pastor and has been on many boards, including a Chamber of Commerce, the Scottish Solar Energy Society and the Right to Warmth Campaign.
He is keen to work for local people to make Corstorphine & Murrayfield a better place to live.
Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward
Euan represents the Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward, covering Balgreen, Broomhall, Carrick Knowe, Corstorphine, Murrayfield, Ravelston, Roseburn, Saughtonhall and Wester Broom.
He is the group Spokesperson on Education, Children and Families and sits on the Policy and Sustainability Committee.
Euan has worked as a social worker, specialising in child protection and homeless young people.
Fiona represents the Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward, covering Balgreen, Broomhall, Carrick Knowe, Corstorphine, Murrayfield, Ravelston, Roseburn, Saughtonhall and Wester Broom.
A former psychiatric nurse, She sits on the Housing, Homelessness and Fair Work Committee, the Development Management Sub Committee, and the Equalities Working Group.
Additionally Fiona is a board member of Yazda UK.

As a result of Lib Dem proposals being supported by a majority of councillors, and therefore adopted for the coming year, there will be £11 million of extra funding for roads and pavements this year.
We were shocked to learn late last week that Meadow Place Road was going to close for weeks, with only a few days’ notice.
Many residents have been in touch, asking about our opinions on possible extensions of the tram line.
After repeated flooding at the top of Carrick Knowe Avenue, the gullies will be upgraded.
Devastating cuts to education services including Speech and Language therapy have been stopped by the passage of a Liberal Democrat budget for the Council.
Works on Featherhall Avenue and Manse Road have been delayed to April.
The ongoing closure of Murrayfield Place is causing particular problems, but Now that the cold weather has receded, these should be completed within the next 2 weeks or so and Roseburn should begin to return to normal.
Significant surface flooding was a serious problem over Christmas and the New Year.
Both sites are under threat, and many residents have been in touch with concerns.
The rollout of the new bin hubs is currently taking place in Roseburn, Coltbridge and parts of Corstorphine.
The biggest issue residents have been contacting us about recently are poor road & pavement conditions.
