Progress at last on improving Farmer's Junction
After many years the Council finally has new powers to penalise inappropriate or incorrect parking.
Work is due to take place to replace the steps leading from the Water of Leith pathway up to the corner of Magdala Crescent/Douglas Crescent.
Towards the end of last year the long awaited pavement “build out” was installed on the entrance to Orchard Drive.
For many years there has been concerns about the safety of what is known as Farmer’s Junction at the top of Strachan Road as presently it is very difficult to access this junction safely as a pedestrian.
The Council has launched consultations on both a workplace parking levy and a visitor levy.
Regulations governing the enforcement of a ban on pavement parking, on double parking and on parking at dropped crossings are expected to come into force on 11th December 2023.
Phase three bin hubs have now been installed across the Inverleith ward.
The investigation into RAAC in Blackhall Library has now concluded.
The supported 13 bus route faced changes, but the Lib Dem team managed to save the current route.
After the recycling units were removed from Craigleith Retail Park, Sainsburys have said they will not replace them.
